LH3 BOOZE CRUISE. 21ST SEPTEMBER 2019. ATTENDANCE- 78

Ahoy there!! Was the call from the LH3 mismanagement team to hit the WATER WAYS OF Lagos on a sailing HASHVENTURE BOOZE CRUISE. Arrangements were made to convey hashers on a merry voyage from Osborne foreshore estate on a 80 seater Catamaran Ferry on a cruise to Ilashe beach for a day of cruising, merryment and of course BEER DRINKING!

We were informed by the Captain at the helm (hash socials- Sir Traffique Warden) that it had been about 15 years since the last LH3 booze cruise voyage. All registered hashers boarded with life jackets on and it was ANCHORS UP as sail was set for ILASHE BEACH.Refreshments were provided as hashers inebriated themselves.

About 2hrs after, the ferry docked at a jetty at Ilashe beach and hashers disembarked for a quick 20 minute meander around the community and beach front. A circle was formed on return and the GM and RA(Staircase and Star Lady) took over proceedings. In usual fashion, hashers were rewarded for hashxempelary conduct while miscreants were duly punished and iced.Visitors from outside Lagos were also graciously welcummed.

After the circle was over and the swing low performed, all participants made their way to the ferry and set sail back to uncivilisation to the city as BEERS were consumed and hash merryment continued on board. Hash Flash irreverently recorded the degree of inebriation for posterity. Several Mismanagement members were caught in various poses of shut eye/open mouth.

ONE LAGOS BUS RUN

29th June 2019 - start and end Fiki Marina. Attendance; 134

In 2018, there was an initiative from the LH3 Grand Master at time (Tuneless) and his Mismanagement Team, to bring together hashers of all Lagos based Kennels (Lagos H3, Thursdays Boys H3, Ikeja H3, Apapa H3, Surulere H3) in the spirit of hashing unity and under one unifying umbrella. It was tagged ‘THE ONE LAGOS BUS RUN’. Since it was well received by most of the Lagos based hashing community, it was decided that this would be an annual event penned into the LH3 social calendar.

For this reason, 2019 was no exception and as an extra incentive, the 40th Anniversary of the LH3 was commemorated on the same day. (The first ever LH3 run was actually 5th of March, 1979). The format of the run was such that a run and circle was organized at 4 parts of the city by the associated Kennels and a bus conveyed hashers to each one, starting at Ikeja and ending at Victoria Island. A grand circle was held by the host kennel LH3 at the end point - Fiki Marina. GM and RA of the LH3 (Staircase and Star Lady) took charge of coordinating the grand circle and gave the GM’s, HM’s and RA’s of all the other Lagos based Kennels their time to coordinate the circle in their own unique style. The event would not have been possible without the financial sacrifice of several sponsors who were thanked and rewarded for this by Mismanagement.

After beers had been drunk and all proceedings ably carried out, it was the end of the second ever annual ‘ONE LAGOS BUS RUN’ and in usual hash tradition it was time to Swing Low....

POSH NOSH 2019

2nd March 2019 Virgin Rose Hotel, V/I Attendance; 48

A Hash ‘POSH NOSH’ is a semi formal dinner whereby hashers are required to dress in appropriate formal/ dinner attire from the waist up and in turn appropriate hashing/running attire from the waist down. This has become an annual event on the LH3 social calendar and plans for the 2019 edition were set in motion by LH3 Mismgmt ably spear headed by Hash Socials, Trafique Warden.

The venue for this year's edition was the ever hash friendly and reliable ‘Virgin Rose Hotel’ in Victoria Island Lagos. Hashers were advised to stick to the dress code and for their reward, prizes would be given to the best dressed Hasher.

There was an enchanting ambience as formal dinner seating arrangements had been made, a sumptuous buffet provided and of course ICE COLD BEER in plentiful supply ! DJ, Boy George was also on hand for those well prepared with their dancing shoes. Judges were assigned from the Mismanagement Team to choose the best dressed Hasher. It was stiff competition but in the end Fully Loaded Dick won the coveted prize. Sponsors were appreciated and by then all that remained was to drink and dance the night away.......DJ, Boy George despite some technical glitches managed to make it a night to remember......
